INTRODUCTION TO PLASTIC ENGINEERING SERVICES
As manufacturing processes become more complex, so does the machinery. Machinery must be made of components that will withstand the environment is placed.
Bokplas ultra High molecular weight high density polyethylene has a molecular weight of approximately 1.5 million measured viscometrically or 5.5 million when the light scalar method is used. It is one of the world’s toughest known thermoplastics.
Bokplas offers different types of light – weight UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) materials. All offer a variety of unique advantages over traditional materials.
HMW-PE is well suited for applications where durability and low friction are of paramount importance. Moving parts operate quickly when made from HMW-PE and also have good thermal and insulator properties. UHMW-PE is inexpensive alternative to metals, ceramics, and wood because it is self lubricating, long wearing and shatter abrasions and corrosion resistant.
ERTALON NYLATRON Polyamides (PA)
Within the polyamides, commonly referred to as ‘nylons’ we distinguish different types. The most important ones are: PA 6, PA 66, PA 11 and PA 12. The differences in physical properties which exist between these types are mainly determined by the composition and the structure of their molecular chains.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
High mechanical strength stiffness hardness and toughness
Good fatigue resistance
High mechanical damping ability
Good sliding properties
Excellent wear resistance
Good electrical insulating properties
Good resistance to high energy radiation (gamma and E-rays)
Good machinability
